Hello, again, hello.
Well, I went and stayed away too long again. Sorry. I'm getting hit more frequently right now, so that may account for some of it, but mainly it's just plain old fashioned laziness, I guess.
I saw the neurologist last Thursday. I gave him some research on Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Apparently, some doctors in Italy have had success with this in intractible CH. He's going to go through it and do some looking on his own and see if we can get the insurance company to go for it. It'll be cheaper in the end if they help me control these things than to pay for expensive abortives for the rest of my life. We'll see.
Guess what? I'm gonna be on television. November 6, 2006, Oklahoma City Channel 4 is airing a special report called "Suicide Headache" They interviewed me and several other clusterheads in the state. The took footage of my O2 tank and of me demonstrating how Imitrex Statdose injections work. Even my grand daughter got in on the act. Bless her heart. She stayed away from PawPaw as long as she could. The interview was mostly over anyways. I guess the cameraman and reporter though it looked like a good human interest touch to the story. Sadly, I have to report that a clusterhead did commit suicide last month. I attended the memorial service. It was strange going to a funeral for someone I had never personally met, yet, at the same time, it felt right that I was there to say goodbye. I never want to have to attend another clusterhead's funeral. That's why I am working so hard with OUCH. I do have to give props to my neurologist, Dr. marc Lenaerts. The reporter asked like 6 doctors to be interviewed about treating CH. MY doc was the only one willing to talk to her. GO!!! DR.LENAERTS GO!!!
OUCH is looking out for the supporters as well as the clusterheads. OUCH has declared November 15th as Supporter Appreciation Day. A day for us to do what we should be doing all year long - telling our supporters how much we appreciate what they do for us. There's even a page where clusterheads can leave messages of love and thanks to their supporter. Check it all out at http://www.ouch-us.org/suptapprday.htm
Well, the wife is due back with Sahara soon so I need to finish this and get off the computer so I can be PawPaw for a while. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses as you walk down your chosen path. Well, unless rose scent is a trigger for you anyways. LOL Still, take the time to notice them even if you can't smell them. The world if full of wonders and beauty if we only allow ourselves to see it.
PFDAN,
Mike
